Instructions for authors and
writers of the Mission Times Courier
on how to submit articles:
With the launching of
http://MissionTimesCourier.com, authors can now directly submit their
articles via the Mission Times Courier website. Photos can be uploaded as
well.
If you are a regular contributor to the Mission Times Courier and have
always emailed your articles by the deadline date, you can now more easily
upload your articles to the website.
Submitted articles will be uploaded as
pending for publication and upon approval by the editor; they will go live on
the site. Articles that are submitted by the print publication deadline will
also be used for the print edition.

Let’s get started by walking through the log-in process:
Visit http://MissionTimesCourier.com
The official launch date is May 18, 2007 and that date coincides with the release of May 2007 print publication issue.)
Once you are on the new site, scroll to the bottom of the page – there you will find a link called “Admin”. Click on the link and you will be prompted with the following log-in screen:

Enter your user name and password. You can select the “save login” to make it
easier when you return.
At
this screen you are prompted to create an article or video feed. For now, let’s
just work on creating articles. You are welcomed to load a test article or an
actual article so you can see how the new site works.

In this example, the author has been granted access to submit articles to the Benchley Weinberger section of the paper. Select the section you write for.
This
is where you upload and submit your articles. It’s self-explanatory – but to be
sure, this is where you will enter the title, confirm the author and the date
you want the article to be time-stamped. Usually you don’t have to touch any of
these.
The intro section is where you would write a short re-cap of the article you have submitted. I can be as easy as just the first paragraph or a teaser lead that gets someone to want to read the rest of your article.
The body section is where you would paste your article from your word processing software. Simply select, copy and then paste into the body section. If you are pasting from Word, there is a button to make pasting from Word even easier.

After you have clicked “Add Article, your article is uploaded
and is pending for publication. Once the article has been approved/edited
by the editor, it will go live.

After you have finished, you can then log out.
